You know, in life, we all have to overcome hurdles and sometimes feel happy or sad; depending on the particular event we are confronted with. Well, today is February 24th and it's my birthday. I may be considered one year older but in some ways, it seems only a short time since the last one.
Of course, in some ways it also seems like this year has dragged along for decades. This year has seen great triumphs and terrific heartaches. I lost my mother and had to deal with sadness and afterward the responsibility of handling her estate because I lived nearby and had been caring for her.
In another month, I had overwhelming joy as my second grandson was born in April. I'm so looking forward to his birthday party in a little more than a month from now. It's his first birthday but I'm not saying which one it is for me. A woman never tells. If she does, she's bragging.
I have an older sister and brother as well as a younger sister so I was and still am a stuck in the middle child. I like it there because I saw what my older siblings got in trouble for and avoided doing the same thing. I then passed valuable lessons to my other sister based on my experiences.
Over the last year I have made positive changes to my life and my health. My husband and I celebrated our tenth anniversary last summer with a big party at our home and invited friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even family members to join us for the occasion. I have worked on who I am and set new goals for my next who knows how many years.
In the community, I reinvigorated my involvement with several community agencies and charities as well. It warms my heart to be able to help ordinary folks that hit a rough spot and need a hand up. Being so active in the community, I took over as the bank's liason to the chamber of commerce.
All in all, life is good when you can open your eyes in the morning. To be alive for another day offers a wide array of possibilities. I love working at the bank and creating mortgages that make dreams come true for my clients. But; starting this day, it's gonna' be a little bit different because . . . . .
It's my BIRTHDAY and
I'm going to be celebrating it today
