The Importance of choosing the right Realtor

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Buying or Selling a home is a business transaction, but often consumers make emotional or impulsive decisions that can cause them to loose time and money. Often Consumers have family or friends in the industry and feel that their relationships with their friends and family are the best resons to use those agents in the industry. Consumers need to remember that Buying or Selling a home is a Business Transaction and should be treated as such.

Friendships and family relationships alone is not enough to ensure a professional Realtor's Creditinials. When you choose an Attorney, Doctor, Mechanic or Acountant you would use tough standards to ensure that you are taken care of and that your needs are met. Choosing a Realtor to represent you in what may be your largest investment of time or money should also be completed with tough standards. A true friend and business professional in the Real Esate Industry will understand the investment you are making and would appreciate the opportunity to offer advice and would compete for the business on a professional level. Besides, if a problem occurs during the transaction would you want to risk your friendhips or family relationships?

Make sure you Interview your Realtor.... Make sure that they understand YOUR needs, goals, and wants!

If the Realtor you are interviewing falls short, can't substantiate, or hedges in any way, you're interviewing the wrong Realtor!

Make sure the Realtor can back up any and all statements.  Take a "show me" attitude! Don't be shy; this could be the most important business decision of your life~

on a final note: Dont be nervous with a newer agent. Its more important that they understand your needs and how to meet your goals and have a plan for that. Just because a newer agent may not have 100's of home sales under their belt, does NOT necessarily mean they are less able to get the job done. Your decision on who to hire should be made on the total interview, not just the number of years or homes sold.

Any Realtor can sell a home, can your Realtor help YOU buy or sell a home based on YOUR needs, YOUR wants and YOUR goals?

HAPPY BUYING & SELLING!!!

If you don't want someone to be nervous with a newer agent, why ask questions 2,3,7,8,10 and 12.  The most important things are the relationship with the client, marketing plan and communication.

Experience is in the eye of the beholder.  I have seen some agents who have been in the business a long time that are not good realtors, yet they'd pass the test of being full time and having experience.  There are some teams locally that do a ton of business yet they have a terrible reputation but still get more business because you see them everywhere.
