Close the Door - Cats vs Cows

By

It is very important to read and follow the showing instructions.  Especially when it pertains to animal.  Do you know what  happens when you forget to close a door, gate or barn door gate?    Things escape....

Once they get out, they can be hard to get back in.  I'm sure many of you Realtors have dealt with a cat that escaped from the house while showing.  Not fun.....    I can remember a time when it took a week to catch on of my seller's cats that escaped.

I'm not sure which would be more challenging to catch- a cat or a cow.....   Probably a cat.

Of course, you can try to pretend you didn't know something escaped.

Busted.......  I see you!

In all seriousness, cows and windows are NOT a good combination    This window nearly was busted when she started bumping her head against it

Moral of the story - keep gates and barn doors closed so that cows, horses or other animals don't escape.

Sondra-This was a fun read. A week.  WOW!. Cats can be escape artists and sure don't come when called like dogs do, Now the cow looking in my window would be a bit too close for comfort. Have yourself a great evening.

Hi Sondra Meyer:, That is pretty scarey to think that cow could have busted through your window.

My showing instructions include this information....Don't let the cat out.

Dog is in the backyard and don't let it in the house.

Close and latch the gate behind you.

Sondra, I am still laughing....if a cow got loose, I would be PANICED!    We have let a cat or dog out showing homes in the City.   I don't show much in the country.

What a great take on keeping doors and gates closed and secure in the COUNTRY Sondra, where living is how you might say, DIFFERENT? That cow at the window is hysterical!!! I still think it could win in the PARADE magazine photo entry contest, then you will be even more famous than you are now. You can share $5 of your prize money with me for prodding you along. I have no idea how people track down cats, they are such independent types.

Hi Sondra - Great advice. I showed an acreage once where the previous showing agent had left the gate open - there were goats everywhere

Good morning Sondra - great shot and who would have thunk it - we are such city slickers in NYC that the most we get to see is an occasional cat, dog or gerbil escaping.  Well, I must admit that there are other multilegged creatures which shall remain nameless that we see once in a while as well...

Sondra

Those are great shots for illustrating your points. Haven't had a cat escape yet, and definitely not a cow. But I hate the responsibility of having to watch out for these beasties!

Sondra, hysterical! Well, for ME, enjoying the photo of the Galloway outside and (wanting to come)inside. A well-thought out and written tale of what not to do!

This is a very good reminder for all to close those gates.

Have a wonderful day and an outstanding week.

Sondra Meyer: Wow. I can only imagine the sellers reaction to coming home to roaming cows. Have a fabulous weekend.

Cheers!
