Yosemite Firefall on Horsetail FallsOne of the best parts of living in Lake Tahoe is that it is relatively close to many other world class photographic locations. I just returned from two wonderful, and very long days in Yosemite National Park. During the last two weeks of February there is a natural lighting occurance that, if all conditions come together, makes Horsetail Falls appear to be on fire. I was fortunate to have quite good conditions on this trip, and here is the result. I hope you enjoy the image. Love it.  I'm a fan of dark shots, and this almost looks Lord-of-the-Rings-esque.  Dark, but beautiful!

What a gorgeous photo.  I've been seeing about the phenomenom of this waterfall in Yosemite looking like lava during a particular time of day.
