How Long Is a Piece of String?

By
Home Inspector with Complete Home Inspections, Inc. TN Lic#050

How Long is a Piece of String?    I was once asked, ‘How long is a piece of string’? Of course there are several answers to this question. Twice as long as half its length could be one and then there is the old stand-by; it is as long as you need it to be. And in this case, it was just the right length to hold all the plumbing parts together to keep the tub trap from falling apart and leaking.

And that my friends, is my 2¢’s worth for now.

Michael I have seen duck tape used on pipes, but this is the first time I have seen rope used in this manor.

Kind of brings a tear to my eye!  That's exactly the stuff we Scouts use on our camping trips to tie our food bag in the air during the night!

It is great stuff.  Multiple uses!  I bet this homeowner is a Scout!

And, frankly, you calling it string is fairly embarrassing!  That's cord or rope.

Sheesh.  Get your terminology straight.

Good morning Jay Markanich . I stand rebuked. You are right it is cord. However; there is a piece of string there too - LOL
