OK, I can just come out and say it. I love the Melbourne Beach Supermarket. I am a cook, and I make a lot of different types of food. I am known in my office for my homemade hummus. In fact I make all different types of Middle Eastern food having grown up there when my dad was in the oil biz.
Many people do not know that the trick to making great hummus is using enough tahini. I like Ziyad brand tahini, and I can find it at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket. I cannot find foul (fava) beans anywhere else in this entire county, but I can find them at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket. Traditional, authentic middle eastern style pita bread cannot be found in supermarkets like Winn Dixie or Publix. But, in Brevard County, I have found just the right bread at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket. It's made in Orlando and you can find it here...it's the real deal.
The Melbourne Beach Supermarket also has an olive bar that shames those at Publix and Winn Dixie, BUT, I really love the fresh selection of feta cheese from around the world! I lived in Greece for two years and dearly missed being able to go out and pick up a really good spanakopita which is a spinach pie in flakey, buttery filo dough. Well guess what? You can find these delicious bundles of Greek delight hot out of the oven in the deli section at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket.
Moon's Seafood recently started selling their fantastic seafood at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket as well. I could go on and on about all the great attributes you can find at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket, but I suggest that you just stop in and figure out yourself what you love most about this little treasure. Because, I am sure that you will find something to love at the Melbourne Beach Supermarket!
