Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our 83rd week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:
to enjoy the ride"
"take a trip without even leaving the farm"
"expand your horizons"
"see through someone else's eyes"
and hopefully much more!
This last weekend, my husband and I headed out to the country (Gales Creek Oregon) to get some hay for our new horse and mule (coming to us this month). That's why I felt inspired this week to showcase country stores. Just cuz I can!
Country Stores Across the US
Ellicott's Country Store located in Historic Ellicott City, MD sounds very unique and includes not only themed rooms in its four-story building, but a bit of a ghost story is included! Andrea Bedard shares this with us.
Leslie Helm tells us a funny story of traveling through Big South Fork, TN and coming upon Cumberland Country Store. One line drew me in and she later quips about her favorite bag :
"Who can resist a "hole in the wall" country store" ,
I love the bag that reads "Ain't nothin' like a mint julep and a joint!"
Bradley's Country Store! Fred Griffin shares this historic landmark with us from Tallahassee, FL and "the best grits in the South" is just the beginning!
Apple Blossom Country Store...now doesn't that sound sweet? Debbie Laity takes us there to Cedaredge, CO and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to show you one of its residents, Sinbad! (Doesn't every country store have one of these guys??!!)
Somehow when I think "country store", I DON'T immediately think of Los Angeles, CA. But this country store yearly event in Laurel Canyon sounds like something filled with fun from all of her photos! So what if it took place in 2013?? Laurel Canyon Photo Day brought to you by Cheryl Johnson. (I loved this guy's face.) He's jammed with some very famous people. Check out the post for more!
A feed mill and a country store! Right up my country alley! Debb Janes and Bernie Stea show off their rural expertise by showcasing Orchards Feed Mill, a local mill and store in Clark County WA. They even have a mobile veterinarian service that visits each weekend!
Please don't forget to comment on these blog posts and I hope that you enjoyed all of these virtual travels.
