2016 Carroll County Home Show - You'll be Sorry if You Miss it!

Spring is just around the corner! A day here and there of milder temperatures, tulips and crocus popping through the soil, sunsets later in the day, and "springing forward" (on March 13) all point to the upcoming end of winter. Another annual sign of spring is the upcoming " 2016 Carroll County Home Show".

The 2016 Carroll County Home Show is scheduled for Saturday, March 12 from 9-5, and Sunday, March 13 from 11-4. The Home Show is located in the Shipley Arena at the Carroll County Ag Center in Westminster, Md. The show, always a well-attended event, offers free admission,  plenty of parking, and lots of free give-aways. The Carroll County Home Show is your opportunity to check out just about everything related to "home". Have you been thinking about starting a new home improvement project? If so, this is your opportunity to get fresh ideas, speak with the professionals, and put your plan in place. Perhaps you have you been thinking about moving this year. If so, you don't want to miss the 2016 Home Show.

Maybe you've been thinking about adding some curb appeal to your home. There are multiple ways to accomplish this goal.  One idea is to plant colorful annuals to coordinate with any perennials you already have in place. There's nothing like a colorful view of your home from the road. Another suggestion is to add fresh mulch to your flower beds. This will not only add visual appeal, but will make those flowers you planted more visible and lovely. And while you're in the yard, look for any bare spots and cover with seed. The spring showers will help get that grass growing. The front door is another focal point that might benefit from some attention. If the door is older and drafty, replacement might be necessary. However, fresh paint and new hardware are great options if the door is in good shape. And while you're at it, adding a wreath is a good idea, too! How about that mailbox? Give it a makeover! Mailboxes become weathered and sometimes dented. You could replace it and add new house numbers to add to your curb appeal. Or, keep what  you have, paint it, and add new house numbers. If you have an asphalt driveway, Spring is a good time to think about resealing the cracks. And if you have a garage door, fresh paint or replacement also creates added appeal to your home. An increasingly popular way to add appeal, while also increasing your safety and security, is to install landscape lighting to illuminate a walking path to that stunning front door that you "made over". One last way to add to your curb appeal is to add shutters or accent trim, or repaint what you already have. And don't forget to replace any missing, curled or faded shingles on the roof. The 2016 Carroll County Home Show is the perfect place to get your imagination going as you speak with landscapers and other home and garden exhibitors.

Do you have a chimney that you used over the winter? Spring is a good time to have it inspected and cleaned so it's ready for next year. Maybe you have been wanting to have it lined. The Carroll County Home Show is where you will find a chimney professional who can answer your questions and give you helpful information.

Are you thinking about moving in 2016? You will be able to speak with a variety of real estate professionals from different area real estate companies. No two real estate professionals are the same,  just as no two real estate companies are the same. Whether you want to rent, sell or buy, it's in your best interest to check out what each offers so you can make the best decision to meet your needs. While you're at the 2016 Carroll County Home Show, stop by and say hi! I love sharing the many ways I go above and beyond to meet my clients' needs. You can find me at the Berkshire Hathaway Homesale Realty booth.
