If you read national polls and news stories about real estate then you have heard of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm born and raised here in GR and have been a real estate broker for 15 years. This is my city and I sell it but more importantly I live here and experience it.
Why is GR the best place to buy a home, raise a family, get a job and make money in the real estate market. We have very wealthy founders who are very prideful in our city. They have set up a culture of philanthropy, sharing, giving, living and education in all areas.
The cost of living is low, housing is affordable and our schools are great. We are the beer city capital of the country. We have Art Prize, Laugh Fest and many other big city events in this small town. You can drive 30 min. and swim in salt free ocean where nothing will bite you. You can fly fish for salmon or steel-head on your lunch break in downtown GR. You can drive 1-2hours and downhill ski on beautiful hills. Hiking, biking, running, mushroom picking, fishing, hunting, skiing, boating, swimming and so much more.
