We were impressed with the food/restaurant, technology, fashions, and the musuems. The security issues were scary - lots of armored cars (per my daughter) and many executives and wealthy travel by helicopter because of the dangers - lots ot heliports on top of highrise buildings. We drove through one area where all the homes were gated, had security cameras, and barbed wire atop high walls! The contrast between the wealthy and the poor was very noticeable. And it's a huge city. Such a contrast from the country

It was an amazing trip in many ways, and some pleasant surprises! Since my daughter is fluent in Portguese it really helped, and she understands the lifestyle. Traffic in the city was scary!

I have only been to Brazil but it was an amzing trip. I have friends who have been to a number of other South American countries and said they were abolutely worth visiting. I would to Brazil again in a heart beat

Well she was there for 1.5 years for school and that was it!

We also visited our other daughter when she did a semester in Amsterdam - a fabulous trip.

I'm glad they have both had travel experiences (we took them both to London when they were young teens, and sent them to Aruba for a week when they were in college), and hope they can do more - harder now as they both have young families!
