I got an email from a young lady looking to move into our area in the next 6 months or so. One of the questions she asked was what outdoor activities are there to do. One of the great things I love about the Huntsville and Madison County area is that there is such a diversity of activities you can do in our area. I mean there is really something for everyone!! We are moving into my favorite time of the year (other than all the yucky pollen all over the place). The weather is great for those that love the outdoors. Here are some upcoming outdoor activities in our area.
May 1 - Crawfish and Shrimp Boil at Riverwalk Marina in Decatur beginning at 6:00 pm. Events include meal, raffle, door prizes, silent auction, and entertainment. Tickets are $40 per couple.
May 3 - North Alabama Birdwatchers Society will meet at 7:00am at the Alabama A&M University Research Farm and Wade Mountain.
May 3 - Juniors Fishing Tournament for boys and girls ages 17 and under will be held from 7:00am to 11:00am. Two juniors to a boat and must be accompanied by a parent or other adult with written parental consent.
May 8 - Golf Tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove. Registration begins at 6:30am and starts at 8:00am. Prices include $125 per player and $500 for each 4-person team.
These are just a few of the many outdoor activities we have in the area. Don't forget the hiking, parks, walking and biking trails, river activities, nature trails, etc. Believe me... If you like it, we have it!!
