In February, I wrote a blog about trending colors in 2016 and why white and off-white are the dominant colors this year. But that was for the kitchen and walls. Now, decorating experts are saying white is the color to have in your bathroom.
White is making a strong comeback in 2016, according to about.com, with several paint manufacturers making it the color of the year.
While white doesn’t command attention, up against an outside view, it’s quite striking. For example, a white wall/window trim with a luscious green landscape outside.

White is also a great color for making rooms look bigger. Keeping it light, even in a small bathroom, can make you feel like the room is larger. To get as much natural light as possible through windows and ceiling openings, choose a reflective paint finish.
If you have a natural brick wall in your bathroom, a wood floor, or other rustic decor, highlight it as much as possible with “white”. Since white doesn’t bring attention to itself, the color is perfect for accenting other colors or details you want to show off in a room.

When thinking of replacing faucets and other plumbing fixtures in your bathroom, think about going with brass, gold, and other colored metals. Again, these metals could get lost if you have a lot of color in your bathroom. But not if you have white which is a perfect backdrop to show these fixtures off.
Besides metals, white also makes rich materials like tropical woods and dark stone pop. The contrast is beautiful.
“White is a classic, flexible choice for all kinds of bathroom decor styles. It's easy to decorate with, can adapt to any change in style, and is generally just practical to use in the bathroom.”
