How To Close More Business Through Conversation

Everyone has to seal a deal in their line of work.  Whether you’re acting as a buyer’s agent, working in Highlands Ranch property management, or engaging in business coaching or consulting, there is always a finish line after talking with a potential client.  Here are some surefire ways to close your new deal.

There will come a moment in your presentation where you will have a call to action.  This opens up two pathways for what you speak about next.  If they are sold, congratulations, your pitch moved itself.  If they raise concerns you are still in the running.  You now have the power to address all these concerns and sell your services further.  Address their points one by one using examples on how you remedy a certain part of your business or do it differently than your competition.  If they have been shopping around these items will set you apart, especially if you truly do things better or differently than your competition.

Make sure you are paying attention and listening intently to them.  The more you listen the more you can absorb their concerns and construct a strategic rebuttal.  Let them explain their points and never interrupt them to correct what they’re saying or defend your own practice.  Once you’ve found out what they need you can offer examples from your business to quell their fears.  The more options you can produce, the more reliable and credible you will appear.  If they are adverse to a certain way you handle business, and you produce three alternatives they will have a tough time shutting you down further.  You should make complete sense by that point.

When you’ve had a good conversation about your services don’t leave the end of the meeting with any obligating language.  The worst thing you can do is try to trick or guilt them into signing up with you.  Always offer a no obligation consultation or a free assessment if you can.  Let your services sell themselves through what you offer and how you head off any negative concerns.  Less salesman pressure will turn into more closed business.
