Dunbarton: Bristow's Only Active Adult Community
When you are looking for an active adult community in Western Prince Wiliam County, VA, your choices are limited to three communities. Regency at Dominion Valley in Haymarket, Heritage Hunt in Gainesville and Dunbarton in Bristow. Dunbarton in Bristow is part of the larger community of Braemar. The idea of having a 55+ community as part of Braemar, was to have an exclusive area catering to grandparents who wanted to live near their grandkids and adult children in Braemar. Dunbarton was the result.
In the small community of just over 480 homes, there is one major distinction between Dunbarton and its counterpart communities in Gainesville and Haymarket: it is not a golf course community. Dunbarton is all about the houses and the central amenities at the Dunbarton Clubhouse.
Home styles are varied from smaller two bedroom duplexes to larger single family homes with four or more bedrooms. All models have at least one main level bedroom. Basements are not something you find in every home. Some homes are built at ground level on a slab. Others are partially underground and give you basement space. Basements are not dictated by the style of home, be it single family detached or duplex. You can find either with or without basements.
All homes in Braemar receive basic cable and internet service as part of their HOA dues. The provider is RCN.
When it comes to amenities, Dunbarton offers an indoor pool for year round use, billiard room, workout room, tennis courts and a putting green. The clubhouse has a lovely sitting area for impromptu gatherings or a party room that you can rent for events.
The back deck of the clubhouse overlooks Broad Run and offers additional place where you can read a book on a temperate day, or gather with neighbors.
If you think Dunbarton may be the right fit for you in your quest for active adult living in Western Prince William County, give me a call and let's get started.
