Happy St. Patrick's Day: March 17th, 2016!
Having lived in Boston, MA for about 10 years I considered myself almost Irish after all I participated in the Celebrations of going to the Bars and Pubs of Boston usually at the latest by 11:30 am while the rest of the country was having their second mug of coffee we started the Celebration!
Now with that said, this Recipe was in my Monthly Newsletter and I wanted to share with you so you can be Irish tomorrow:
IRISH GRILLED CHEESE:
Ingredients 2 Tablespoons butter 2 slices rye bread 2 tablespoons Irish Mustard (Dijon Is fine, too) 2 ounces, aged Irish Cheddar Small pickles, for serving!
Directions: Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Place the slices of bread in the skillet, allowing it to soak up all the butter. Spread the mustard on both slices, then cut the cheese into thin slices and lay it on the bread. Allow the cheese to melt, then bring the two slices together and check both sides to make sure they’re crisp and golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Transfer the sandwich to a cutting board and slice it in half.
Serve it with small pickles while the cheese is hot and gooey.
Variations Use pumpernickel bread or pumpernickel-rye swirl bread for a nice, deep color. Add tomato slices or thinly sliced corned beef to the sandwich. (Recipe by The Pioneer Woman thepioneerwoman's Irish grilled cheese recipe/)
Now in all fairness I will be making this tomorrow rain shine or heat:))) We are expecting temperatures in the low '80's. Now those of you who are wondering will I be wearing Green tomorrow, please see my answer below:
