Throwback Thursday - Looking for Shrimp

I thought I would take you back to the time when I was on the road exhibiting and selling my paintings. While in the Florida - Alabama area, I exhibited at the Shrimp Festival, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Several weeks before the show, I traveled around the area looking for some material to paint.  Obviously, I decided to look for anything "Shrimp".

Along the Bon Secour river, we found Billy's Seafood.  They have been catching fish and selling the fresh catch since 1975 at this out of the way place.  If you are ever in the area check out their daily catch at 16780 River Road, in Bon Secour, AL 36511.

Good morning Eric Bouler , I have a Pastel Portrait of me that was done in 1963,  What is funny, is it was done at the same spot from where you took this photo at Jackson Square.  The artist's name was Patti.

Neat area.  I guess you didn't paint (figuratively or literally) the Florabama Lounge, did you?

Hi Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner, Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC , Acctually I have a lot of pictures I took of Flora Bama Lounge, before it was destroyed by the hurricane.  I have not painted any paintings from them.

Bon Secur was a really cool little "mini" fishing town. We had fun and bought some great fish to eat!
