She wanted to rent but decided to buy.

A prospective tenant drove to Williamsburg from Kansas this weekend and we met at the office on Monday.  Her husband is going to be an army recruiter in the area. We do not have a large inventory of rental property in our local MLS, so after I showed her one rental property I showed her six houses for sale over the next two days. 

 

She and her husband have decided they want to buy a house instead of renting.  The payments on this house will be quite a bit less than they would be paying in rent.  If this works out it will be a win win situation! 

 

They have been really happy with my work and said they will send me more military referrals!

It's a tough decision sometimes to buy and not rent when you know you'll likely be transferred again, but when payments are less than rent even if you loose a little when you sell you likely don't loose as much as if you were just paying someone else's mortgage the entire time you lived there.
