What's in The News Philadelphia & Bucks County
I was born and raised in NE Philadelphia . For those of you who live or lived there I went to Olney Elementary School and then to Olney High School. I was an Art major and went to work for a Philadelphia Center City embroidery company named Mortiz near the Inquire building There I made the small samples that were approved and then when to the other artists who made them into larger scales for the machines . They made jackets emblems for school teams and sports teams .They even made hats for the VFW .There were many items made at this company too many to remember . They are no longer located there and I no longer do art work except as a hobby
I raised my children in Bensalem Pa . It boarders NE Philadelphia and this is where I sell Real Estate . In Philadelphia and Bucks County for the last thirty years . I consider myself very lucky as I love what I do . I love selling and listing Real Estate . I have made many friends in this business .
My first Real Estate Broker would laugh and say Hannah you will learn .I would look at him puzzled . You will learn who to deal with and who not too but it will take time . Lesson learned . He always made me pay if I made a mistake small or big .He said I would never make it again and he was right .I learned to dot my I's and cross my T's. Today the computer does it all but even a computer makes mistakes and you have to read it over and make sure everything is done right no rushing .How many times do you buy a house
Enough of this let's get to the news .Clean water is an important issue these days and something we should be all concerned about . We can not live without water . What is in the water you drink ? What about when you bath and wash your clothes . When you boil your water for that favorite pasta dish The water you children go swimming in . I am hearing more and more about people finding bad chemicals in their water . Many do not find out until harm is done .Great harm I may add .
Navy response to tainted water around military facilities appears to have been delayed
In response to mounting concerns over well water contamination in communities around three area military facilities, Pennsylvania congressmen Mike Fitzpatrick (R-8th), Patrick Meehan (R-7th) and Brendan Boyle (D-13th) sent a letter to the Navy demanding answers about the government’s knowledge of the water issues. The letter followed an investigative report by the Bucks County Courier Times that disclosed apparent time gaps between the initial detection of perfluorinated compounds on or near the former and current military bases in Bucks and Montgomery counties and notification of nearby residents and public water authorities. The chemical compounds PFOS and PFOA have been found in nearly 100 public and private water wells in Warminster and Warrington in Bucks County and in Horsham, Montgomery County. The Navy and National Guard Bureau have taken responsibility for the contamination, as the chemicals were present in firefighting foams and other materials used for decades at the three bases, and have paid to connect homeowners to public water and to cleanse public wells.

Thank you Bucks County Courier Times for your great investigating reporting on these issues . Where would we be without clean water . We think these things happen in other places not in our own back yards .
I found this through the Voters Voice . Important issues that are happening in our communities . You have a voice . Make sure it is heard . These are really important issues in my humble opinion
