So why am I in my jammies on Saturday at 3 PM?

Here it is 3 PM on a Saturday and I am still in my jammies. No, that is definitely not typical.

This past week was so hectic, my days started early and ended late. There is a full court press to get some listings ready to sell and others moved forward in escrow.

Yesterday, Friday, was actually the day that most of my last minute running around happened, and today, I'm cleaning up some of the work. Such as:

Listing #1: We had the caravan on Thursday that I wrote about before, and yesterday I went back there to see if the seller had left it in show worthy condition to the public starting today. We have a major print ad running in the local paper starting today, Saturday. Well, when I got over there to put the lockbox on, I could not open the front door with the key that was left for me, so I called my associate to come over and put a whole new lock on it. Also, the padlock for the workshop was missing so we put ours on.

At the same time that I was over there, I took a whole new set of photos, inside and out. These, of course, needed to go on the MLS and also on a special website we are dedicating to this listing. It was important to get it done last night, because this morning's newspaper is running the ad with this domain name. We went kind of fast, so this morning, I went over them plus copy that I had. Sure enough, this morning I received calls on them. One of them asked, "how old are the photos?" and I was able to say "from yesterday."

Listing #2: This is is in escrow - a very short escrow - and there are some things about it that need to be "cleaned up" (that I can't go into for client privilege purposes). Anyway, the gals at escrow had told me that they were serving lunch and I was invited. Definitely had to bring something to contribute, so went to the bakery and bought some yummy cupcakes.

Listing #3: Luckily, I bought a bunch of them because they had quite a group there. That was definitely an hour worth my time, got to ask some questions about another listing which needs some title questions cleaned up. Can't say any more about that one either.

Listing #4: In the meantime, I am finding out that a "coming soon" listing will stay off the market for a bit longer even though I have a very firm contract on it. Spent time contacting some potential buyers who had their eyes on it to give them an update.

Listing #5: Had a contractor call me to ask when he can get in and paint the living room. We had put it off because we wanted to wait to find just the right color. The seller wanted it a different color than I had suggested, and I dragged my feet until I could persuade him on a lighter tone.

Listing #6: The seller is putting someone in there to stay for a short period of time. That does not sit well with me because anytime you have to get 24 hour notice to show, you lose a certain percentage of agents coming around with their buyers.

SO WHY AM I STILL IN MY JAMMIES AT 3 PM ON THIS SATURDAY?

1. I have been fielding phone calls and setting up showings starting tomorrow.

2. I have been playing around with those new photos and copy changes of Listing #1.

3. I have been watching Djokovic and Nadal playing tennis at Indian Wells. What a match!

4. It's raining outside, the fireplace is on, and the endless cups of tea delicious.

5. I've been blogging and commenting on questions here on Activerain.

TIME TO CHANGE, TIME TO TAKE THE DOGS OUT FOR A WALK.
