If you thought it was going to be all about bunnies and egg hunts in our Lake Havasu community this weekend, you were wrong. The World Offroad Racing Championship Season (WORCS) will be hosting the Lake Havasu 2016 WORCS Motorcycle Competition at Crazy Horse Campgrounds. Last weekend was the ATV/SXS races. This weekend, the dirt bikes take center stage.

Lake Havasu 2016 WORCS Motorcycle Competition

The Lake Havasu 2016 WORCS Motorcycle Competition is Round 5 of the 10 round 2016 WORCS racing season. After this weekend, it will be moving on to Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, UT. From there, it will wind its way through Wilseyville, CA, Cedar City, UT and Devore, CA. The 10th and final round of competition will take place this October in Primm, NV.

One of the reasons that our city was chosen for the Lake Havasu 2016 WORCS Motorcycle Competition is because the course can be taken by air, land and sea. How? At one point, riders end up in the air over the water via the lagoon jump. No other stop in the WORCS season has a course like that. While we are well known for our lake, there are thousands of acres of vacant, unadulterated BLM land surrounding our city. This is where the desert dawgs get down and dirty.

The actual Lake Havsau 2016 WORCS Motorcycle Competition races take place from 7:30am to 6pm on Saturday and 7:30am to 2pm on Sunday. The public is welcome to come out and cheer on their favorite riders. A UTV Expo will be set up at Crazy Horse as well. It's a great opportunity to check out the latest and greatest models in off-road vehicles. The weather is warming up and the expo only deals are going to be hot! It might be time to upgrade your toys.
