My Take on the Market for February 2016 - Dahlonega & Dawsonville
If you are selling, or thinking of selling your home, now is the time to get it spruced up to show at its best. I expect we will have a couple of slowdowns followed by high activity. 
Usually showings drop off while people are working on their taxes. There will be buyers planning on using their tax refund as a down payment. I expect they will be out looking as soon as they file their taxes. The next slow down should be when the school year is over. It has been my experience that buyers with children in school usually go on vacation just as soon as school is out. This usually results in a couple of weeks of little activity. When the buyers get back from vacation they get serious. They want to find a home and get moved before the new school year starts.  
When your home first goes on the market you want it to make a good first impression. Take advantage of the tax season and 'schools-out' slowdowns to get it ready to show. Peak selling season is just around the corner.
