Going Stripless in Las Vegas: Day 2

Yesterday, I posted that I recently spent a week in the Las Vegas area, and totally stayed off The Strip.  Not everyone realizes how much there is to do in the Las Vegas area, without going to the infamous Strip.  So, for the next few days, I'll share some of my activites in the area, which I've come to enjoy so much!

Day 2:  Today is golf day, which is the main reason we went on this trip.  It was a long, dreary, winter in Central Washington State and we needed a warm escape.

Thanks to the huge trunk in my Ford Taurus, we were able to get both sets of clubs, both walking carts AND all our luggage in the car, with room to spare... you know, for things we buy along the way.   And, by-the-way, I love my Ford Taurus for other reasons, too.  It is the most versatile car I've ever owned. This is my second Taurus and, when it's time to buy my next car, it will probably be another Taurus.

Last year, during an 18 day trip to the Vegas area, we made a tee time at the Boulder City Golf Course which was only about 20 minutes from our condo. What an amazing discovering that was.  We enjoy walking, and found out we could tee off at 2:00, or after, and play all the holes we could (before dark) for just $8.  YES, $8   Can you say SCORE ?  Note: I think the rate with a cart was $21 for non-residents.  Still, a very reasonable price.

Having scored last year on the price at the Boulder City Golf Course, we were certain we would have to pay more this year.  NOT.  WhooHoo!  Score Again!

We did play other courses, but Boudler City became our "go-to" favorite due to the fabulous price.  We saved so much, we had visions of dollar bills dancing in our heads.  And, we knew exactly how those saved dollars needed to be spent. We went directly to Totos Mexican Restaurant up the street and ordered Margaritas and Fajitas for dinner.   Can you say... YUM ?

The Boulder City golf course isn't fancy but it is a very typical municipal, public, golf course.  It was fun to play and we were able to move right along, without a lot of slow play.    We will be back.

Tomorrow will be about another of my favorite activities while visiting Vegas.

Cheers!
Carol

Just back from Vegas 2 weeks ago attending the Re/Max annual R4 International convention.  Great well known speakers.  In the evenings after classes, we did do the site seeing/shopping and Frement Street wonders.  Important note though is that numerous attendees had their credit card info stolen and used.  We had a site where attendees posted their thoughts, etc from the convention.  There were at least 7-8 posts where people had their accounts thru credit card usage or atm's compromised.  So be careful!
