Fun Things To Do In La Jolla Village
ü Prospect Street: shopping or just window shopping, there are a lot of great shops, cafes and restaurants off prospect, many with ocean view! Prospect is the main street through The Village of La Jolla and streets like Herschel, Girard & Fay all intersect with a treasure trove of their own shops too.
ü The La Jolla Historical Society: come learn about La Jolla’s heritage, historical sites & buildings. This non-profit hosts events throughout the year, like my favorite: the Secret Garden Tour every Spring!

Open Noon to 4pm Thursday – Sunday
ü Sunny Jim’s Cave (Store) aka The Cave Store: You walk into what seems like a typical gift sghop, only to discover a passageway atop 145 steps staright down to a sea cave. The cave was named "Sunny Jim" by Frank Baum, who wrote 'The Wizard Oz'. Mostly because the opening resembles a cartoon character, Sunny Jim, who was a mascot for the British Force Wheat cereal products in the 1920's.

ü La Jolla Cove: people watching, sea lion watching, swimming, snorkeling & scuba diving all happen here in this amazing natural cove.
ü Scripps Park @ La Jolla Cove: is a sprawling ocean front grassy area where you can read, play sports, picnic, enjoy the ocean views and so on
.
ü La Valencia Hotel is an iconic pink fixture in The Village. This 1926 Vintage luxury hotel offers amazing rooms (yes we’ve stayed in two different suites so far), ocean views, amazing food & drinks and hosts many events like weddings and Rotary among many others. A great place to stop in for a meal or enjoy cocktails and (on certain evenings) live music.

ü Children’s pool & Children’s Pool Observation Walkway: for a great place to be in the ocean, but still on “dry” land. You may get splashed out here from time to time, but it’s a fun walk. The pool has been taken over by sea lions and is most of the time either closed to humans or highly discouraging human interaction with the sea life on the beach level, but the walkway is nearly always open.

ü Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla: a wonderful place to take in different exhibits or host an event. The have a wonderful after 5pm happy hour during the summer months and a full schedule of exhibits & collections.

ü The Coast Walk Trail: one of my favorites (and my dog Peroni's too-pictured above on the trail). It actually has a trail head just outside the Cave Store. A beautiful and relatively short coastal cliffs walk with amazing views of coastal La Jolla. This tral basically connects La Jolla Shores to La Jolla Cove.
There are many more things to do, see and experience in La Jolla Village, La Jolla Shores and Bird Rock, to name a few. I’ll be posting more here as well as new blog posts in the coming weeks!
