Easter Sunday March 27, 2016
Easter is a celebration of our connection to what is here on earth and what lies ahead. Flowers have been a symbol of celebration for many occasions. Weddings, graduation, birth, birthdays, death, congratulations, and holidays. Flowers are forever present.
Today is Easter Sunday. Flowers are the hallmark of spring. It is a beautiful time of the year. Patiently we wait for spring to come; then celebrate life events that matter. Like the flowers that victoriously bloom, so do people. We are part of the human race striving for victory! As flowers gradually reveal their true beauty, people aim to achieve too!
We cannot force a flower to bloom, it must do it on its own. For growth to occur it takes courage, strength, perseverance, hope and determination. Flowers in spring offer people hope! In some ways, the creation of a plant and a person's goal is intertwined. Aggressively they become assertive! Both have to keep on pushing through many obstacles until they achieve success. They are remarkably resilient to change.
Miraculously, a flower blooms and shows off its true colors. But we don't get to view what it went through to erupt out of the dirt, the soil, dark spaces it had to crawl. When people become victorious, it's just as hard and painful because people feel and they are out there, growing outside of their comfort zone, sweating, working late hours, getting up early before the sun rises, trying new ways to get through their obstacles, encountering problems, and many challenges along the way. But when they succeed and hear the cheers it's the most beautiful sound they hear!
Today is the celebration of Easter and the connection we have with people here on earth. Giving flowers is a token of appreciation and love. Let no man, woman, plant or animal be taken for granted. Everyone endures their own struggles.
