2016 Buford Highway Bikes and Bites, winner of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition’s 2016 Local Bike Initiative Blinkie Award, is back! Join Civil Bikes and We Love BuHi on a tasty, police-escorted tour by bicycle of Atlanta’s most deliciously diverse and vibrant street.
The 2016 Buford Highway Bikes and Bites will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 8:30am to 12:00pm. The event begins at Plaza Fiesta – 4166 Buford Highway Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30345. This is sure to be a fun event in the Brookhaven / Chamblee area.
Residents and visitors are invited to see, taste and experience Buford Highway in a completely different way, as well as engage in a conversation about smart, equitable growth, bicycle and pedestrian safety, and improved transportation infrastructure in the busy corridor.
The hilly, medium-paced eight-mile ride is intended for more experienced riders (average speed of 10-12 mph) and will feature special guests, city and regional leaders, and local businesses and restaurants. Snacks, water and restrooms will be available at stops along the route. Lunch will be served at ride’s end. A vegetarian option is available.
Each $35 ticket includes admission, pre-ride checkups, a police escort, souvenirs and snacks, water and lunch. Click here to buy your tickets.
