What a time to be alive. If you had told me when I got into Miami real estate over 10 years ago that we’d someday be showing properties via virtual reality, I might not have believed it. But now it’s a “reality,” as buyers are increasingly experiencing properties without ever setting foot inside them. And one of those properties is my favorite pre-construction on the market right now, Turnberry Ocean Club.
If you haven’t seen Turnberry Ocean Club, you’re missing out. This Sunny Isles Beach condo raises the already-high bar in South Florida luxury. Picture 52 stories of glass with mansion-sized units and a swimming pool that juts out the side of the building, and you’re close to understanding what this building will look like when it’s done being constructed later next year.
As the Miami Herald has already reported, the sales associates involved in the pre-construction sales are showing units using new technology that allows prospective buyers to tour the property before there’s even a property to tour. Using a joystick controller, you can “walk around” the units and check out the details and the views before you make the leap of plunking down $4 million or more on a luxury condominium.
To me, that kind of technology hasn’t arrived soon enough. I think Turnberry Ocean Club is just the beginning. With more and more foreign buyers interested in Miami real estate, I’d like to be able to convey the look and feel of a variety of options before they fly in to check out a few of the finalists.
