She cowered in fear as her young life passed before her eyes. Her friends... her family... she would soon be only a memory to all. She wondered what she might have one day been. Would she be an actress, a nurse.. or maybe a singer? It did not matter now, her short life was about to end. Her heart was pounding, her mind was racing... as stillness came.

The ride was over. She climbed out of
her seat on wobbly legs. Regaining her composure she raced off with
her friends to experience the thrill of fear again. This is Six
Flags, a place of perpetual happiness.
In the shadows of Six Flags there is a community where the fear is not imagined and where happiness seldom exists. Crime is no longer newsworthy as it occurs all too frequent. Drug dealers work the corners and prostitutes walk the streets. Some businesses close early to avoid the hazards of the dark while others open late to cater to the fringes. No one is safe from the filth and decay. Even some of the hotels are caged by six foot high fencing and gated entrances, the occupants prisoners of their fear. |
On May 3, 2008, hope arrives.
Just north of Interstate 20 at the corner of Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Interchange Drive | MAP | an event will be held which will bring light to this community.
Food will be provided to the hungry, clothing to the naked, and medical treatment to the sick. Music and song will fill the air as believers raise their hands or bow their heads in worship and prayer. Some will be introduced to Christ for the 1st time. All will witness the gospel as exhibited though the acts of the compassionate.
