The best time of the year to go on a diet, I figure, is when you're the busiest. For a Sacramento REALTOR®, that time is now, the next 12 weeks will be a flurry of activity before everything dies down again. Our manager at Lyon says what will happen is the newspaper will publish a story about the hot spring market in July, after the numbers come out for the end of June, and everybody will flock to their agents, crying to put their homes on the market, and the market will be over.
He may very well be right. I see that scenario play out year after year. For some reason, people think summer is the best time, and it's one of the worst. Now is the time to do it. I know from 40 years in the business that April, May and June are my busiest months all year. The most demanding. And I need to drop 15 pounds, so it sounds like the time to embark on that endeavor. Too busy to think about food.
It means no alcohol, portion controls and exercise. Yup, starts today. But I can do anything for 12 weeks. Wow, it used to take 2 weeks, now that I think about it, but when you get to be over 60, everything takes a bit longer, LOL. Plus, you can't just stop eating all together and party all night like you're 20.
So, last night, the last day in March, we engaged in what my husband dubbed my personal Mardi Gras. You can read more about it and see all the photos in my personal blog today at this link: Elizabeth Weintraub Team Welcomes Spring at Hawks in Midtown.
