A Fitting Welcome to Spring: the Sacramento Real Estate Market

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

The best time of the year to go on a diet, I figure, is when you're the busiest. For a Sacramento REALTOR®, that time is now, the next 12 weeks will be a flurry of activity before everything dies down again. Our manager at Lyon says what will happen is the newspaper will publish a story about the hot spring market in July, after the numbers come out for the end of June, and everybody will flock to their agents, crying to put their homes on the market, and the market will be over.

He may very well be right. I see that scenario play out year after year. For some reason, people think summer is the best time, and it's one of the worst. Now is the time to do it. I know from 40 years in the business that April, May and June are my busiest months all year. The most demanding. And I need to drop 15 pounds, so it sounds like the time to embark on that endeavor. Too busy to think about food.

It means no alcohol, portion controls and exercise. Yup, starts today. But I can do anything for 12 weeks. Wow, it used to take 2 weeks, now that I think about it, but when you get to be over 60, everything takes a bit longer, LOL. Plus, you can't just stop eating all together and party all night like you're 20.

So, last night, the last day in March, we engaged in what my husband dubbed my personal Mardi Gras. You can read more about it and see all the photos in my personal blog today at this link: Elizabeth Weintraub Team Welcomes Spring at Hawks in Midtown.

Hi there Elizabeth, I agree with you about the busy months. Good for you on your diet and goals. I do one hour on my Precor Elliptical watching Netflix 5 to 6 days a week.

I am with you 100% but I cannot give up my glass of Cognac right before I hop into bed.

Good morning Elizabeth. I understand about the eating part. I my office didn't order lunch for me, I most likely would forget about eating lunch, but my biggest meal each day is breakfast.

Hi Elizabeth.  I got a good chuckle from your managers statement.  I think this is so true for real estate.

Gad, I haven't had steak tartare since PJ Clarke's in New York, my all time favorite place for quick dinners and drinks in New York. Like you, I'm trying to cut back during this busy time, but think more exercise is my answer. Time to walk the beach at Carmel.

Noah Seidenberg Hey, that's the type of elliptical I have. It's my cat's favorite toy! I will probably start using it again today.

Joe Petrowsky I have no time for breakfast, although I make time. Way too busy in the mornings answering emails and following up on the evening's activity that happened while I slept like a princess.

Gabe Sanders How do you combat that problem? Sellers who don't know they missed the market because they're reading last season's news.

You can't, it's human nature.  Like those selling stocks when the market has crashed and others buying when it's already peaked.  Same principle at work here, herd mentality at the back of the herd.

Elizabeth, these will be the busiest months, and best of luck on your endeavor on the weight loss.  You are right, as we age, the harder it gets!

Glad the Elizabeth Weintraub team got a chance to decompress before hitting the busy season.  Looks like a good time.
