The Key Step to Overcoming a Misfortune

“Acceptance of what has happened is the first step

to over-coming the consequence of

any misfortune.”

 William James 1842 – 1910, American Philosopher,

Psychologist

As I see it. . . . . . . .

The key step to overcoming a misfortune

The first step is to understand that misfortune can strike anyone at anytime. The key to over coming misfortune is what you do after a misfortunate event occurs.

After an unfortunate event occurs acknowledge the fact that the event has happened . . . . and seek out the best way to find an acceptable solution to overcome the condition.

Take responsibility for resolving the circumstances . . . . and for the actions that you have to take to resolve the issues.

Take massive action . . . . to create your desired outcome.

The first step to overcoming a misfortune . . . . is to understand is that it happen . . . . The key step is your attitude and how you emotionally work your way through the misfortune to turn it around.

Lou Ludwig you mean the first step is NOT to run around and cry that you were a victum and that Obama needs to wipe your nose and make it better? Who'd a thunk?

Lou, thank you for the post.  I needed this today.  It has been a tough week with other people having misfortunes.  I have listened and coached them all week.  Good to hear from another perspective.  The best part:  take MASSIVE action.  Love it.
