Don't Drink Mountain Dew Before Bed

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Results 20344949

Okay. I should be sleeping. I want to be sleeping. I would say I need to be sleeping...but I am not.  No!  Silly me, I drank a lot of Mountain Dew tonight.  Yes!  Three large glasses to be exact.  I really am not sleepy.  This could have been a night that I got some sleep.  No sleeping in in the morning because I run the sound at church.  No nap in the afternoon because I am showing houses.

I am all wired up.  I could get a lot done.  Good idea!  I will clean the house.  No...I don't want to do that.  New Idea.  I will read all the posts that look like they are boring. Perhaps that will put me to sleep.

Lesson learned. Water from now on. I would be sleeping.  Argggg...I know this is a dumb post.  But I am kicking myself.  What was I thinking! Anyone else in the same boat tonight?

I just had to have a cup of coffee after I got home - I will be up half the night.... but tomorrow I will sleep and spend the day enjoying the beauty around me and the man of my dreams for a whole day... so tonight - coffee - well I may not sleep but - maybe a nap on a picnic blanket in the sun

I think they say there is more caffeine in that that other drinks -- you may be up for a very long time. All the best.

I love my Mountain Dew!  There is 55 grams of caffeine in one can.  How much caffeine is in a cup of coffee?  Coffee does not keep me up, I can have two cups and go right to sleep.  Have a great morning!

Go drink 2 more glasses but mix it half and half with Jose Quervo. It will bring you up and then slam you right down to sleep.

Before Red Bull and other "energy drinks", we used to drink Mountain Dew or Dr. Pepper to stay awake and study!  Lot's of caffeine and sugar!  Those were the days...

I know how you feel.  I used to be able to drink as much caffeine as I wanted - anytime day or night.  Not anymore!  And Mountain Dew?  Whew!  That's got way more caffeine than I can handle!  Hope you sleep well tonight!  :)

Occasionally I forget and do the Dew at night.  Today, bed at midnight and up at 4:30 to deliver kids to the airport - had a Dew for breakfast - yummy.

Thanks for all the comments.  I did not drink the Dew today but because of my lack of sleep the night before I feel asleep at 6 last night and got up at 12:30 AM....I will probably take a "nap" yet but I am not tired so here I am.  Don't do the DEW.

I cut off all caffeine consumption at noon.  If you are in need of an afternoon pick-me-up without the insomnia side effects, try a shot of organic vinegar.  It has great health benefits and really wakes up the senses!  Cheers!

Hey, I like mountain dew too. I never saw a problem with it before going to bed, but thanks! Now I know why I don't fall asleep after parties. Lol!

Can Mountain Dew raise blood pressure? I drank 2 liters last night and could not get to sleep; tested my blood pressure this morning and it is through the roof.
