Let's talk about a few key market facets here - the months supply of inventory for Hoffman Estates Homes has dipped then increased. We have 32% less in housing inventory then we did a year ago. There is still much competition and current market time averages 44 days to contract.

Please remember that during the past year we experienced a balanced market neither favoring sellers or buyers. Because of our lower inventory level we have moved into a 'sellers market' but prices have not increased nor days on the market decreased. As you point out so well, a market being a seller’s market or buyer’s market defies simple explanation. Inventory shifts we would think would tilt the scales, don’t always do so.
