Earth Day 2016 in Atlanta. With Earth Day coming up, you’re probably wondering if there’s an Earth Day event that you could attend at the new rooftop of Ponce City Market in Old Fourth Ward. Well, as luck would have it, there are actually two events planned for the rooftop, which is sure to become a hotspot for intown Atlanta events.

EarthShare of Georgia’s 2016 Annual Earth Day Party will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Ponce City Market. Georgia’s premier Earth Day celebration brings together a diverse group of grassroots’ environmentalists, devoted philanthropists, and business professionals whose collective goal is to integrate sustainable practices and policies wherever they work, live or play.  This year’s event brings a unique array of activities, including pre-Party tours of an on-site tiny house presented by Tiny House Atlanta and professional performances and giveaways of the popular Kendama game. There will be an assortment of eco-friendly and experience-oriented auction items, including a weekend rental of Paddleboards, a trip on Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s pontoon boat and a special live auction of a tiny house weekend getaway. Guests will be among the first to enjoy the Ponce City Market’s newly opened rooftop with signature cocktails, live music and delicious food catered by Sun in My Belly. The Nature Conservancy in Georgia’s 22nd Earth Day fundraiser will take place from 7:00 – 11:00 PM, Friday, April 22, 2016 on the rooftop of Ponce City Market. One of Atlanta’s premier springtime benefits, this annual event has raised more than $4 million over the past 21 years to protect Georgia’s forests, waters and coast. This year, the event’s theme is On Top of the World. The celebration is expected to draw 300+ guests, who will enjoy a sustainable, Georgia-based menu by Epting Events, a live performance by Yacht Rock Schooner, and the opportunity to engage with environmental leaders in the community. Tickets are available online for the Nature Conservancy in Georgia’s 22nd Earth Day fundraiser.

From its landmark location in Old Fourth Ward at 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE, Ponce City Market has become a connecting point for the exciting mix of adjoining neighborhoods, and beyond—including Virginia-Highland, Midtown Atlanta, Inman Park, Poncey-Highland, Morningside, Candler Park and Druid Hills.

Ponce City Market is focused on building community connections, and has incorporated a pedestrian network, public green spaces, and access to the new Atlanta BeltLine corridor—all within the revitalized historic Sears, Roebuck & Company building. As a community hub, Ponce City Market adds the in-town convenience and comfort of highly-desirable retail around the Central Food Hall, as well as exceptional Flats apartments and Class-A loft office space.
