This was sent to me today by a daily "health conscious" email I receive....
Tennis court/raquetball court- seemed fitting to send out to our club! For those of you who are not interested in getting on the courts and actually playing next week, there are places for viewing if you want to come along and cheer us on. I'm sure you'll be in for a good laugh at least! Talking about my own volleyball skills here which I know are quite amusing! Food for thought.... I stepped on the tennis court at my local club the other morning to get my daily exercise and play a friendly game of doubles with some buddies. The day before, the entire club was rented by a local apartment complex tennis organization. This is an organization that provides social functions for local apartment complexes to meet and mingle, and they meet at my club once a year for a tennis event. As I walked on the court, one of my friends held up a big sign that they had left behind indicating that one of the sponsors for their event was a local waste management company. Well, the moment I saw that sign, I thought about all of you who are working to lose weight and improve your health. You see, when I saw the words "Waste Management," I immediately rewrote that word in my head as Waist Management. You know what I'm talking about - that area of concern that resides just above your hips and just under your rib cage. This is the kind of waist that, for most people, could use a little management. Unfortunately, for many, this area has become a "toxic waist dump." And those who are guilty of this particular type of self-abuse have no place to hide because they are surrounded by the evidence. So, if you are one of those people whose waist could use a better manager, why not make today the day you become that better manager! Otherwise, all of that toxic junk food you eat will simply go to waist! So to sum it all up- Lets not waist our choices! Thanks Diane for helping me put this together as my partner is sunning it up in Costa Rica right now. - Valerie
