Finding the Perfect Agent

When it comes to finding the perfect real estate agent, it is really more than just going with your gut feeling. However, you cannot discount those first impressions that you get of the person. After all, if you are uncomfortable in the presence of the person, it is going to be hard in order to have a working relationship with the person if you are constantly thinking and wondering about what the person is doing behind your back. This is why there are certain questions that you should ask a real estate agent, whether you are the seller or the buyer in order to find the agent that is going to work the best with you.

For starters, do they work part-time or full-time as a real estate agent? The reason that a person should ask this is that those that are selling their home do not want the home to only be advertised half the time when the person is working part-time. In addition, those that are buying homes want someone that is going to have the time to dedicate to them. However, that does not mean that you should totally discount that person that is only working part-time. If they are a part-time worker, but you are the only client, then you can rest assure that when they are on the job that they are dedicating that time to you. Which is a huge plus.

Secondly, how long has the person been a real estate agent? This will help you to determine if you are truly comfortable with the level of expertise that they are offering. But once again, this is not a guarantee that the person is going to be a flawless agent. Many of those that are just starting out, have something to prove to the industry, thus they may work ten times harder for you than a seasoned professional.

What credentials does the real estate agent hold? They should be licensed to practice in the state that you are looking to move to, as well as have various other titles that are given to those in the real estate market. You should also ask the person just how many properties have they sold in the last year? This will give you a good idea of the person's success rate and it could be the main reason as to why you choose that particular agent to handle your business. All in all, make a smart decision and do the homework on the person to guarantee that it is a smart decision.
