Where I Am Right Now?

At this time...with few centimeters long white box to tap from my Iphone, I am sitting as I am writing this, by the driveway of a property blocking the gas company's van.

The Fiasco

This is part of the story that I last posted. Water was activated yesterday. That was great-- so I thought. Prior to yesterday, I met with the town water department employees. The property manager did not show up. The employees refused to turn the water on without the contractor. They arranged to meet the next morning.

Working Together?

So me, the buyer's agent and the property manager for the listing agent, agreed to handle the responsibility ourselves because of a personal crisis the other agent is undergoing.

I was given an update yesterday that the water had been turned on.... But the gas is off. I called the gas company before these fiascoes. The gas is on. Unfortunately, it was turned off at the main valve.

I had no choice but call the gas company and explained the situation. A schedule was made for today. I gave them two numbers to call: mine and the property manager's. I missed the call at 8:15 AM by a second. I could not return the call as it has no caller ID. I called the property manager and asked if he got the call. He said yes but I could not make it. So I just gave the guy the code.

With a bit of disappointment as he assured me he has men all over the state working for him, I asked him what time did the technician said he would be at the property. He retorted, "He is on his way."

No Time to Waste

I grabbed my jacket, put it on, slid my feet into my boots and drove. I was relieved to see the gas company's van parked on the bank-owned property. So I approached him and asked what is going on. He said, "There is a water leak and the basement is flooded. I turned the valve off."

What was left for me to do was call the property manager to get his man over here ASAP.

The gas is on now on and the contractors are still working on the furnace. Water was vacuumed..but I am not leaving until I know everything is 100 percent all set as my home inspection is slated for Monday. I can't waste a day.

Can you blame me if I don't believe everything I hear until I see it myself? Damn.. I wish I have coffee and donuts with me.

This sounds like a scene from the movie The Money Pit.  Try to fix one thing and 2 others pop up.  Persistence and tenacity will win out, however
