So... I can finally say I am a published author! In large part thank you to some of my earliest readers, the community on Active Rain.
I am writing to my very first readers on Active Rain now mostly to say thank you for all the words of encouragment about my writing. You've all propelled me to pursue my one passion and finally write. So with that said, I'd taken the last year and change and written a young adult series of books, with the first one currently published.
If it weren't for all the kind words from so many on this network, I may have of course still written a book, but I may not have ever had the confidence to let my words out into the larger and scarier universe.
The book is a character development story set in a somewhat dystopian future. There are, of course, some parallels to the political and societal ills plaguing the world I know, the one I actually live in. I have no idea what, if anything, will happen with it, as the world of self-publishing is entirely new to me, but I'm learning. I may never make a living from just my words, but a girl can dream, and that dream would include having just enough to be able to keep writing.
So in short - thank you so much for reading my words for so many years and for being generous and encouraging and kind to me. It meant the world to me.
And if you are interested to learn more about what it is I actually wrote, my website has more info and a free preview: innahardison.com
Or you can go directly to amazon and read the preview on there and see some reviews if you like.http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D3I843A
And if you know anyone who might actually enjoy reading the book - I'll take all the support I can get.
And for anyone who'd ever thought of maybe writing a novel but is waiting for the right time, just do it. The time for those of us not independantly wealthy is always going to be time stolen.
Thanks especially to: Bruce Walter , Michelle Viggiano , Paul Slaybaugh , Andrew J. Lenza John MacArthur Simon Conway , Tanya Nouwens , Susan Mangigian and so many others I couldn't tag:-)
