Random White Mountain scenes.
An hour north of Concord New Hampshire (the Capitol of the state) you enter the White Mountains National Forest. Loon Mountain Ski resort is on the southern boundry of the White Mountains Range, North is Cannon Mountain Ski Area owned by the state, Bretton Woods at the famous Mountain Washington Hotel, and northern Coos County where snowmobiling is the winter sport of choice.To our East is North Conway with it's outlet shopping and further east the state of Maine is less than an hour away.To our west the Connecticut river valley and the state of Vermont is less than an hour away. To our South is the Lakes region with Lake Winnipesauke and Squam lake made famous by the movie "On Golden Pond" also less than an hour away. Boston and Montreal Canada are about two and a half hours north or south from the White Mountains National Forest.
Life in the great white north is still convenient to many of the regional hot-spots but many that settle here find little reason to venture to far from thier newly adopted vacation and retirement life styles and scenery. And why would you leave such a place?
