Xeriscape design is an area we all need to be educated on or promoting education, especially in our western and sun-belt states. I personally live in a community that is slowly shifting over to more of a Xeriscape design and it is very hard to get some residents to switch over. We should all be extolling the virtues of Xeriscape or zero-scape landcape to our friends and neighbors in areas such as my state of Arizona and former state of California.
The City of Aurora is offering Do It Yourself Xeriscape Design classes to help you get your landscape ready for summer.
The first of two classes will be held Thursday, April 21 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Here you will learn the basics and be able to draw and design your site map. You must bring a site map to class
which you can obtain by calling 303-739-7195.
The second class is held on Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Here you will put the finishing touches on your plan and be ready to convert your lawn into low-water landscape.
These classes will be held at the Aurora Central Library Large Community Room, 14949 E Alameda Parkway.
