"I have lived here for 15 years and this is the first time that I have been in this shop" I
turned to see who she was and wondered how many other catonsville residents could say
the same. Its a quaint little shop, the kind of place that makes you feel like time has stood
still. The kind of place that makes you think, "I got to go in and check this place out". Ok I
know you are dying to know what shop im talking about so here is a hint:
They make their own chocolates and the old bay dark chocolate crabs are as good as they sound! that
sweet and salty combo is just perfect!
We got to check out Ken's old fashion candy shop while waiting for a table at Duesenberg's cafe and grill
which is right around the corner on Mellor Ave.
Although they close at 3pm and serve only breakfast and lunch, there was a constant line that went out
the door. The spot is tiny but the food is great and so are the portions. You would'nt leave hungry that's
for sure. I got the corn beef and pastrami sandwich on rye with steak fries, it was so good and a generous
amount of meat, yummy!
On our mini tour we also noticed that the farmers market is on Sundays and Wednesdays....
no doubt a popular spot for foodies and cooks alike. As you may have notice my "taste" of Catonsville
revolved quite a bit around the food scene...I promise next time to talk just a little more about real
estate.
