Children's Fishing Derby in Prospect CT April 16, 2016

Saturday, April 16, the Town of Prospect CT will once again sponsor their annual fishing derby at the pond at McGrath Park, behind town hall. This past year, the pond was drained and cleaned out of all the weeds and deepened so it will make for a better day for the kids as well as the other anglers later.

The weather should be ideal and as there have been a few people enjoying the fishing so far this spring, it should be ready for the kids.

Cone on out and watch the joy on their faces as they pull on those poles.

Ed Silva I'm ashamed to say that I have not taken my kids fishing yet and they are 14 and 16 years old. Maybe on kids fish day free this year I will get it done.

Conrad Allen  it does happen and the parents have to really bite their tongues while the kids  are complaining about not being able to fish.

Larry Johnston   I stopped for a while last year and the kids seemed to be enjoying it a lot.

Nina Hollander  The pond gets a lot of activity winter included for ice fishers and the town sees that it is stocked.  They would have to do that this year after draining it to dig it out this past winter
