Over 250 REALTORS® attended the rally at the Two Rivers Convention Center Wednesday taking advantage of networking and education opportunities.

Comparing the first quarter of 2015 and 2016, homes in Mesa County are selling faster and for more money.

Grand Junction is not quite feeling what the Denver area is feeling but we are, having both strong increases in both dollar volume and the number of sales," said Annette Miller Senior Vice president of Heritage Title Company.

According to local real estate reports, Mesa County homes are going for about $12,000 more and selling in two weeks less than they did a year ago.

"It's a good time to buy because we have historically low interest rates. It’s also a good time to sell because the inventory is low right now.  There are not a lot of options for the buyers.

About 250 realtors were in attendance at the Western Slope Realtor Rally to learn from keynote speakers and over 50 vendors.

Local real estate experts say the community has really stabilized after the mass amount of foreclosures we has previously and that the local market now falls into a healthy market category. Agents say, once our job market gets better we will see a boom in real estate as well.

This is a trend they expect to continue with an estimated housing increase of nearly 30,000 on the Western Slope over the next 25 years, agents expect the win-win situation to last.

New home sales are steady with 19 new homes sold in February, 2016.  A list of active subdivisions and price can be found here.
