Could Your Local Bean Counter Provide a Barrel Full of Leads?

Do you think your local bean counter would make a good referral partner?

Shhh...here's a secret...I love real estate and marketing but I co-own and manage a tax company here in Atlanta. I've been doing taxes for 8+ years, over 5,000 returns supervised across 7 locations.

I've seen a lot of folks. Based your tax return, I know if you own a home or if you're renting. How? One little form that's used to file home mortgage interest, taxes and mortgage insurance premium as tax deductions.

You're local tax guys knows this information too!

Could you work with your local bean counter to co-market both your businesses?

Tax season is ending next week. Offer to host a end of the year mixer for your new found bean counting buddy. The only catch...only do the mixer if he will allow you to do two. One for homeowners and one for renters. Ask your preferred mortgage lender to cover the cost of face painters and jumpers for the kids. While your preferred contractor covers the cost for beer and burgers.

Everyone wins.

Now do you think your n'hood bean counter would make a good referral partner?

Let me know your thoughts below!

P.S. Here's another quick Killer Tax Tip for Real Estate Agents. The tax deadline is coming up April 18th. Be sure to ask your tax professional to file an extension if you're not going to make the deadline. Filing an extension easily saves you penalties and fees with the IRS.
