Coming Soon to Virginia!

     My plan to take over the world become a leading lender on a nationwide level are continuing with the latest foray in mortgage licensing.  Currently, I'm licensed and doing business in California, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, and the next state I'm pursuing licensure in is the "Mother of Presidents", Virginia.

     I hesitated to share the news because while I scheduled an exam time to take the National Mortgage Exam with Uniform State Test (UST) portion, I wasn't certain I'd pass -- I've been a little too busy to get in study time, but thankfully, despite the drastic changes to the mortgage industry, the exam format has remained largely the same, and today I passed with a 92% (much better than the 75% I scored on a practice exam, my only exam prep)!

     The UST is the exam accepted by many states throughout the country, and opens up the door to licensing in many more states, but I'll be adding them slowly and intentionally.  Mason McDuffie currently has a Virginia office located in Richmond and our in-house processing/underwriting/closing team is familiar with the aspects of lending in Virginia.  This makes life immensely easier as there's no staff training to learn "how things are done" as a foray into an unfamiliar state would require.  

     I've also met some great connections in the greater DC area, some of whom work regularly in Virginia.  Tie in some family, friends, and business associates, and the timing seems right to make the leap and add state number 6 to the list of licenses.

     As always, I'm excited for the opportunities that exist in working in Virginia.  Currently, we've got loans in process in Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and California (c'mon New Jersey, give me a call!), and while it's a challenge running a business around different time zones, state rules and real estate tradition, it's exciting and fulfilling to encounter so many people in so many places, and be able to help people across state lines obtain the dream of home ownership - there's really only one thing missing... Anna Banana Kruchten --- I think pretty soon I may need to start borrowing the jet!
