Spring Migration Watch
Daily through May 15
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton
Trail fee for Non-Members
Join the official counter at North Lookout to watch for returning raptor migrants and other birds. Staff, trainees and volunteers will be on hand to help spot and identify birds while enjoying the scenic views and picking up some migration and in-flight ID tips. Spring Weekend Programs
Saturdays and Sundays through May 30

Free with trail fee
Groups, families, and all first-time visitors are encouraged to work into their visit a weekend program which cover a variety of raptor observation basics as well as the Sanctuary's headliner live raptor program. Schedule includes: M&T Bank's Raptors Up Close! at 11 pm and 2 pm, Trapping & Tracking at 11 am, Binocular Basics at 10 am, and Name that Raptor at 12:30 pm. Wee Ones Walk
Wednesday, May 4 from 10 am - 11:30 am
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton
Members FREE, Non-Members $5
held the first Wednesday of each month and designed for children aged 3 to 5, Wee Ones Walks are both entertainign and educational. Kids will join an educator for a children's story and nature activity followed by a short outdoor hike and culminating craft. Each month's program will introduce a new theme linked to seasonal changes the kids can see and experience. Registration is required and limited to 15. Warbler Weekend
Friday, May 6 - Sunday, May 8 from 7 am - 10 am
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton
$10 Members, $20 Non-Members
Pick one day or all three for this guided morning bird walk with a Sanctuary naturalist in pursuit of wood warblers and other Neotropical migrants that populate the forests at the base of Hawk Mountain. Participants should bring binoculars and field guides, and a trail map will be provided to registered participants. Registration is required. International Migratory Bird Day  
Saturday, May 14 from 10am - 2pm
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton
Free.
Celebrate migratory birds across the world with children's crafts, games, and information about bird migration. Activities will incorporate the 2016 theme, Spread Your Wings for Bird Conservation, and focus on conserving habitat. This global celebration is the only international education program that highlights the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The Cape May Raptor Banding Project
Saturday, May 14 from 5:30 pm - 7 pm
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton
Free.
Join Paul Napier to learn a brief history of The Cape May Raptor Banding Project, some impressive statistics, an overview of its intern program, how the project contributes to science projects, and visuals and facts about the raptors. Lots of great, close-up and detailed photographs guaranteed. Paul is the president of the Project and has been banding raptors since 1988.
