2016 Ventura County Safe Boating Expo
Safety is a big concern for anyone who has ever been on a boat, especially out on the ocean. The Channel Islands Coast Guard wants to make sure you you know how to be safe while enjoying a day on the water. They are hosting the 2016 Ventura County Safe Boating Expo at the Channel Islands Coast Guard Station on Saturday May 14th. Admission is absolutely free, but the information you will obtain is priceless.
At the 2016 Ventura County Safe Boating Expo, informational booths will be set up all over the grounds. Find out the latest safety techniques for land and sea. Take a tour and a ride aboard a Coast Guard vessel. Coast Guard members will teach CPR and other life-saving techniques throughout the day. Attend one of the safety equipment clinics. Learn all about the types of rescues our USCG service members perform each day and what equipment they use. You will be amazed when you see the live offshore helicopter, fire and "person in water" demonstrations performed by real Coast Guard, County and City first responders at 11am and 2pm. Make sure you bring your camera with you to capture some of the excitement.
All demos and clinics are provided free of charge at the 2016 Ventura County Safe Boating Expo. The goal of the expo is to make sure you stay safe out on the water. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to learn from the pros.
