Building Bridges Over the Valleys, Between the Peaks.
Do you build daily bridges the valleys between the peaks? Maybe the question is do you know how to bridge the valleys between the peaks?
I'll offer you a very a simple formula, yet "difficult" to perform daily.
Schedule your month: simply insert all the important appointments that you either attend regularly (like networking meetings, client party, trainings, caravan, etc.) or special dates (like birthdays and anniversaries). This will allow you to schedule around these events, so your attendance remains consistent.
This builds relationship bridges with other members of the groups, clients & family. This allows you to attend the school play or game of your child, the family birthday party for your spouse & kids, etc.
This builds relationship bridges with your spouse, kids and other members of your family. Having a strong, happy home life makes you more focused and tolerant at work.
Here's where you schdule your monthly marketing plan. Monthly marketing keeps you a consitent brand with your database & geo-farms.
FIT IT IN: everything else (weekly) fits in around this big dates & appointments. Keep these important dates.
Schedule your Week: Here's where you time block out your CEO Power Hour and your COO Hour of Power daily. CEO time to work on your business with lead generation hours and meals with A+ and A clients or referral partners, if you don't who will? COO Hours of Power are your times to (work in your business) by making active & potential client check in calls or return calls & e-mails that came in while you were engaged in CEO time or on an appointment. You start to schedule buyer tour of homes and inspections, etc.
FIT IT IN: Again, these COO tasks fit in around CEO time. CEO time (lead generation) daily is what builds the brideges across the valleys. COO time maintains the business that creates the peaks.
Schedule your Day: The day becomes one big "fit it in" because now your month & week have already claimed key time blocks for non-negotiable activities in your day. The rest fits in around them: impromptu appointments with clients, random phone calls that send you sideways, last minute invitations, etc. When you allow the unexpected to disrupt the necessary, you're ceasing to construct the bridge and your headed for the valley.
Key Practice is to: FIT IT IN, do not cancel CEO & COO time unless absolutely necessary. CEO & COO time is difficult to perform daily because it's a routine and it ain't sexy, making it easy to cancel or avoid. No one knows the difference right? The valley knows and I'll bet your clients can tell too.
The juice comes from the unexpected distractions, if you're like me, routines are boring; but the systems & routines (the habits) build the bridges across the valleys. We love the thrill of being wanted or needed when that phone rings or text comes in, plus it gets us out of those boring routines...
They are time bandits!
The more you prioritize and focus on your priorities, the more you'll accomplish in your day and the more bridges you'll have to cross the many valleys. This is how I've increased my income every year since 2003.
