That is a lot to absorb, but I do agree with you that we are one divided country unfortunately

Fran, I am with you. Maybe it is time for another non lawyer to be in the White House. He was not my first pick but he is now.

Fran, Mr. Trump certainly is getting lots of "news" time. I too am praying for the Lord to bless our country again with a "Godly leader".

To quote Peter Wehner, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and who served in Ronald Reagan’s and George H.W. Bush Administrations:

"Mr. Trump’s supporters don’t care about his agenda; they are utterly captivated by his persona. They view him as the strongest, most dominant, most assertive political figure they have ever seen. In an odd bow to Nietzschean ethics, they respect and applaud his Will to Power. And so the man who openly admires tyrants like Vladimir V. Putin and praised the Chinese crackdown in Tiananmen Square because it showed “strength” has become the repository of their hopes.

Set aside the fact that Mr. Trump is a compulsive and unrepentant liar. Set aside, too, that he has demonstrated no ability for statecraft or the actual administration of government and has demonstrated much incompetence at business to boot.

Bracket for now the fact that Mr. Trump has been more erratic, unprincipled and proudly ignorant when it comes to public policy than perhaps any major presidential candidate in American history.

That, I think, says it all.

I didn't write the previous comment - as I stated in the beginning, Peter Wehner did.

1). Didn't America "go with their gut" electing Bush 43? How'd that turn out?

2) But what if the "sinner" is completely unrepentant?

3) If we go by is current team of foreign policy advisors, he is NOT "hiring the best."

4) Read the piece: an endorsement or analysis from Newt Gingrich is not exactly surprising, as he too is demagogic... and he has his own "moral" issues, so it's no wonder he can relate to Trump. And comparing running the United States government to hiring Canadians to run the Wollman Ice Rink is laughable.

Here's the thing: I've read the transcripts of his interviews and speeches - Trump is so contradictory in his statements that he borders on the incoherent. I find it truly bizarre that seemingly smart people are willing to vote for this guy. 

"I mean, his father was with Lee Harvey Oswald, prior to Oswald being shot," Trump told Fox & Friends, referring to a weeks-old "exposé" from the National Enquirer that identified a Cuban-looking man handing out pro-Castro flyers with Oswald in August 1963 as Rafael Cruz. "And nobody even brings it up!" - 

This is the guy you want making national security decisions... smh.
