Hey Justin, welcome to activerain. I haven't attended one of those training sessions but have heard good things.
Zig said some really brilliant stuff. And it's actually time for me to recruit the person I was 15 years ago when I started at the firm I now own.
Justin, even though I am not a huge fan of the huge team business model, I think that with your attitutde, you will wind up being very successful - whether you follow the KW model or wind up starting your own brokerage. I can totally see you turning into another great brokerage owner that strives for creating a quality real estate practice for yourself and your agents.
Oh! And I forgot! Welcome to ActiveRain, and I hope we see a lot more of you.
Justin, you just proved that the amount of money you make is not the driving force between staying or moving on. It is about how you are treated. Congrats on the feature, and welcome to Active Rain. We are happy to have you here!
Welcome to ActiveRain Justin Stoddart .
This is The Best place to learn, share and build relationships with like-minded professionals.
About building team, many times I have seen a slight difference in what a member makes is not all that important compared to what they get out of being in a team.
Welcome to ActiveRain!
Coming from a position of wanting to give/help can make some wonderful relationships.
Welcome to Active Rain Justin Stoddart - as REALTORS® who have been here for more than 9 years, it's well worth it!
And thanks for a well written and easy to read post - looking forward to reading more from you!
Justin, hearing Ben Kinney is uplifting and encouraging to our business. GREAT first post, and look forward to reading more. Welcome to ActiveRain.
Justin,
Welcome to Active Rain. It is always an exciting time to attend an event and leave with a brain full of information and a robust 'Gotta do this" list.
The challenge of retention, in my opinion, is not so simple. The two take aways have been the same ones promoted since 1990.
Things have changed if keeping the 100,000 new agents that come on board every year is important. These folks know at their young age what us old timers come to realize at 55. And it is missing from the list.
Quality of life.
And for each, this element varies. And quality of life as folks mature become a moving target.
Hi Justin Stoddart, Welcome to Active Rain and congrats on a wonderful first blog post. The content was very good and well thought out.
Justin - welcome to the Rain! You'll find loads and loads and loads of help and other great ideas. This group costs you nothing but time to listen, read, and absorb! Great first post.
Hi Justin Stoddart it takes patience and time to create a team that's worthy of boasting about.... it's a long hard road but if you pay attention, it can happen.... I had one for many years and my daughter now has her own....
and welcome to ActiveRain...it's a great place to learn, share, market and network....and I hope you enjoy all of it...
Wow Justin, excellent lessons that you have shared here from Ben, Zig and others!
Thank you!
Btw, welcome to Active Rain, looking forward to reading many more of your posts, let me know if there is anything that I can do to help as you get started here.
Bob
Welcome to ActiveRain, Justin and I look forward to reading more of your posts. Retaining talent is probably one of the hardest things for brokers to do, but valuing them and their contribution to the team is the start.
Hello Ben and Welcome to the rain, what a great first blog and I am sure we will see more great ones from you.
I use Zig Ziglar quote everyday!!!
'You can have everything you want in life if you will just help enough other people get what they want.'
Justin Stoddart Good post and within your writing, specifically with regard to #2 on your list; there lies the problem. So many have expectations far greater than we can provide. Often, reality needs to take hold over a period of elapse time of repeated failures for these individuals, then they come forward. TIming can be everything.
Hi Justin,
Ben Kinney is certainly a good one to emulate. Most seminars contain so much information, people come away excited to do it all. It's best to pick one or two key things that pertain to you and figure out how and when to implement them.
Thanks for the post... and, Welcome to the world of Active Rain blogging. Blogging can revolutionize your business. AR is an extremely valuable platform to connect with other agents and potential clients. I recommend you check out the "Resources" section and click on "Getting Started".
