Aptly dubbed "The Mixmaster" many years ago, the intersection of I-35 and I-30, in downtown Dallas, changed this morning. Prior to this morning, drivers experienced cars crossing multiple lanes of southbound traffic to exit from I-35 to I-30. For years, veterans of this route have geared up miles back for unsuspecting drivers who realized at the last moment that they had to cross four lanes of heavy traffic to access the exit ramp to I-30. This area has notably been one of the greatest traffic issues in Dallas for decades.
Hurray! Today the southbound exit from I-35 to westbound I-30 that has changed, as part of the new "Horseshoe Project. Drivers now exit southbound I-35 by turning right onto I-30. More positive changes are in the works.
