Last month I posted about the Ballantyne Corporate Park's 8th annual Cans For A Cause Food Drive in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in Charlotte. The Cans For A Cause Food Drive, which ended on April 20th, proved to be a great success with 75,649 pounds of food donated through the Ballantyne Corporate Park's drive, alone.
And while the Cans For A Cause Food Drive in Ballantyne might be over, please keep in mind that you can donate on-line all year long to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Every dollar you contribute provides four meals for children, for struggling families, for the elderly on fixed incomes. So please think about being generous with your contribution and help stamp out hunger in the Charlotte region.
By the way, the 24th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, in conjuntion with the National Association of Letter Carriers, is looking for volunteers to help sort food at local post offices and drive postal routes for pick-ups on Saturday, May 14th. Last year some 71 million pounds of food were donated through this drive. Click here if you're interested in volunteering for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive in Charlotte.
