Ballantyne's Cans For A Cause April Food Drive in Charlotte: Update

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty 179530

Last month I posted about the Ballantyne Corporate Park's 8th annual Cans For A Cause Food Drive in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in Charlotte. The Cans For A Cause Food Drive, which ended on April 20th, proved to be a great success with 75,649 pounds of food donated through the Ballantyne Corporate Park's drive, alone.

And while the Cans For A Cause Food Drive in Ballantyne might be over, please keep in mind that you can donate on-line all year long to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Every dollar you contribute provides four meals for children, for struggling families, for the elderly on fixed incomes. So please think about being generous with your contribution and help stamp out hunger in the Charlotte region.

Stamp Out Hunger Food DriveBy the way, the 24th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, in conjuntion with the National Association of Letter Carriers, is looking for volunteers to help sort food at local post offices and drive postal routes for pick-ups on Saturday, May 14th. Last year some 71 million pounds of food were donated through this drive. Click here if you're interested in volunteering for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive in Charlotte.

Ballantyne Corporate Park's 8th annual Cans for A Cause Food Drive in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in Charlotte, begins on Monday, April 11th and runs through April 20th. You can help this great cause by donating canned meats, vegetables, fruits, soups, peanut butter and other canned food goods. Collection bins will be located throughout the Ballantyne Corporate Park building lobbies.

If you can't get over to the Ballantyne Corporate Park between April 11th and April 20th to donate cans of food you can still help. Donate some money as each dollar donated equals seven pounds of food for shelters, soup kitchens, emergency pantries. You can donate to Cans For A Cause on-line and please use code BCP2016 so that your donation is counted towards the Ballantyne Corporate Park's drive.

Even in an affluent a city like Charlotte, there is so much hunger. Please be generous in your donations to our neighbors and help end hunger in the Queen City.

Conrad Allen ~ hi Conrad... Charlotteans are quite generous. And keep in mind that this food drive was just in one section of south Charlotte with about 60,000 residents.

Nina

Everyone chipped to drink the Ballanyne Beer in order to donate the empty cans. Well someone had to step for the April Food Drive. That's what I would call team work.

Good luck and success.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson ~ hi Sally and David...it really is a shame that we have so much hunger all year round in affluent cities like Charlotte. Fortunately, volunteer and local groups make it easy to donate food here without needing to actually make a trip to the pantry. They'll pick up right at our front doors.
